IPad keyboards provide a great typing experience and lightweight, durable protection for your iPad. And they attach to iPad magnetically — no need for switches, plugs, and pairing. The Magic Keyboard delivers even more with a floating design, backlit keys, and a built‑in trackpad.
Magic Keyboard, Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad, Magic Mouse 2, and Magic Trackpad 2 have a built-in rechargeable battery that lets you use the devices for extended periods between charges.
Disabling the built-in keyboard must be done manually on each reboot. This isn't a huge deal since we're not rebooting our Mac's very much (hopefully). WARNING: Before disabling the built-in keyboard, make darn sure you have an external keyboard connected!! Disable Mac OS X Keyboard (built-in only) Raw. Unload-keyboard #! /bin/bash # Unload the keyboard so I can use my external keyboard # and not worry about accidentally pressing buttons on # the built-in. This may not be a problem for you but, you # should see my desk sometimes (Oh no!!);-). Immerse the keyboard in the water and give it a few good shakes. Then let the keyboard drain on a towel. Let it sit overnight or until it’s completely dry — typically, overnight. The next day, after the keyboard is dry, attempt to plug it back into the PC and see whether it can be used. Often, the keyboard recovers just fine.
You can check your device's charge level by choosing its name from the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
When it's time to charge your device's battery, connect a Lightning to USB cable to its Lightning port, then connect the other end of the cable to your Mac or a USB power adapter.
